Membership 2010 - July 2011

Membership fees for 2010 valid to 30th July 2011 are currently being collected. The fees are €60 family,€40 adult and €20 child. These fees are essential for Balrothery Tennis Club to operate and pay for social tennis events, competitions, insurance, electricity, Tennis Ireland affiliation etc. Presently the Clubhouse and surrounding area is being re-vamped. All members renewing or joining are required to download the membership pack, read & retain the supplementary rules & regulations. Complete the membership form making cheques payable to Balrothery Tennis Club and posted to The Treasurer, Balrothery Tennis Club, 35 Kelly’s Bay Cliffs, Skerries, Co.Dublin. Tel: Club 086-3953759.

John McCormack Cup Tournament

This will take place on Sunday 19th September at 2.00p.m. at Balrothery Tennis Courts.Last year there was a great turnout on a fine sunny September day with the trophy being won be Eamonn Redmond and Fiona Carey. We will also host a barbeque to coincide with the competition. All very welcome.
Entrance fee €6 members/€12 non-members.

Floodlight Token System

Tokens are available to buy to operate the floodlights. These cost €1 each for members and €2 for non-members with each token lasting 30 minutes.

Car Park

The Parks Tennis Co ordinator raised concerns over safety of kids using courts for Shreddies Tennis on Thursday. They have decided to create in 15 min break between sessions as a temporary measure. Please take care if using the car park an be particularly aware that many of our children are entering & exiting the car park on foot while cars come & go.

Round Robin

The round robin has recently been completed and there was some terrific action. Well done to all those who took part. It was full of tight finishes, crushing victories and unfortunately dramatic injuries (get well soon Frank, Aileen and Michelle O’Reilly!). The winners are;

COACHING

Ciaran Cunningham, our Club coach, coaches Adults and Juniors. Ciaran also coaches Balrothery NS teams and carries out the Shreddies programme for Fingal Council. If you are thinking of starting, why not call/text Ciaran(087 6725493) and get some professional coaching to start you off. Ciaran is Balrothery Tennis Club ONLY Coach at present, sanctioned by ourselves and Fingal County Council to use the courts.

Court Availability

Coaching Mon/Tues 6.30-8.30 uses the 2 courts for 6.30 class and 2 for the 7.30 class
Adult Club night 7pm Wednesday uses the only 2 courts with Floodlighting. Club night is 2 euro per person to cover lights and balls. Tokens will be available to buy on these nights from Committee members.

Shreddies Parks Tennis

Shreddies Parks Tennis runs a program throughout the year. This is heavily subsidised by Shreddies & Fingal Council to keep costs reasonable for parents. Balrothery Parks is normally held on Thursdays from 3.30 pm. Each new session is normally well advertised locally prior to starting. This session starts May 6th.
The Club Coach, Ciaran Cunningham also coaches this program. you can contact Ciaran for further details.
